Especially if you’re on a family sharing plan as the host where everyone on the group will be able to have access to all of your paid services, hiding subscriptions can begin to save the day.

For every item purchased you hide, the will all simultaneously be hidden across all of your connected device using the same Apple ID, but to the members of a Family sharing group, they’ll all be completely in the dark until you choose to make the subscription visible again in the future.

For several reasons, you may want to delete a subscription with the chief reason being that most subscriptions do not deliver the expectation, hence their is no reason to pay and try them again for another month but just to delete them. Expired subscriptions according to Apple will only go away automatically from your subscription history after their one year of expiration. One year? Even Apps you have subscribed to on free trial can be canceled as well even though you have not been charged once for using the service. But here’s the catch, be careful when deleting free trail subscriptions, as you may end up canceling your access  to the free content as was promised by the free trail offer. Save yourself this misfortune by taking out time to read through the subscription terms of services.

However, this is not the same for apps you have paid a subscription fee for and have decided to cancel for one reason or another. In this case, you’ll be allowed to complete your paid month or year and will not be charged again when the next billing cycle is due.
